Psalm 33:5b The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD FOR HE IS GOOD!
The earth is what? Full of the goodness of the LORD? Where! I don't see it. I don't hear about it. Sure, maybe in the days of David and Solomon, but now? Today? Surely, you jest. It may seem to us that the earth is far from filled with the goodness of the LORD, yet the Words written thousands of years ago still stand true.
When you sit down to eat your meals you see the goodness of the LORD that fills the earth. When you go the store and buy clothes, or tools or the simplest of things for your home, or even toys you see the goodness of the LORD filling the earth.
The LORD sending the early and late rains and sun and snow at their appointed times brings forth the crops, the pasturelands, and fills the streams and lakes -- from which we gather food, make clothes and tools and all the things we take for granted.
When you enter your church you see the great goodness of the LORD which fills the earth. For there His Word is spoken, and His mercy is revealed to you again and again and you hear that for Jesus' sake you are saved. You are not alone, throughout the world, the Word is spoken and countless thousands hear and believe in the salvation, the goodness of the LORD which fills the earth.
