Job 19:25-27 "I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; And after my skin is destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!"

I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER LIVES!

"I know!" A child's or teenager's statement of exasperation, when reminded of something they ought or ought not be doing. There is the roll of the eyes, a heavy sigh, usually followed by stomping off. "I know." A penitent's statement of sorrow, either at having been caught and making the attempt to get out of harsh punishment, or a genuine statement of penitence. "I know!" Another way in which we say those two words is with frustrated conviction when we are trying to convince another individual of something we firmly believe in. "I know." This is the believer's statement of calm, conviction in the wonderful truths of Scripture. A statement that confesses without exasperation, without, shame, without frustration, that we do believe what our Lord God has told us.

These two words open one of the more treasured hymns of Easter: "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." They are important words, because they for us, for you, a personal confession in the fact that your Savior not only died for your sins, but rose again. Of this fact, you and I are convinced of through the Scriptures. It is a personal conviction, and a joyful conviction for knowing this, confessing this from the heart, ties you to your Lord's glorious rising and gives to you, the whole and complete righteousness, new life, and eternal life in and with Jesus your Savior. "I know that, my Redeemer lives!"
