Matthew 5:16 Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
LET US SHINE OUR SAINT-LIGHT
A little girl was taken by an aunt to a grand cathedral. Since this was the first time she had ever visited such a magnificent building, she sat in utter wonder gazing at the sunlit beauty of the large stained-glass windows. "Auntie," the little girl finally spoke, "who are those people in the windows?" "Those are the saints," replied the aunt. After a long pause the little girl said, in a loud whisper that could be heard by all: "Oh, now I know what saints are. They are people who let the light shine through!"
Yes, saints are the redeemed people of the Lord through whom the Holy Spirit shines the light of Christ's saving Gospel to others. They are disciples of Christ who in their homes and families, in all their associations with their fellow men, by word and deed, endeavor to proclaim the praises of Him who called them out of darkness into His marvelous light, so others, through their Christian witness, might come to know Him as their Savior, too, and join the company of saints washed clean by His blood.
May God bestow on us His grace, With blessings rich provide us,
And may the brightness of His face To life eternal guide us
That we His saving health may know, His gracious will and pleasure,
And also to the heathen show Christ's riches without measure
And unto God convert them.
