Tomorrow we are very excited to host Martin Lowenberg, one of the last living Holocaust survivors in the country and one of only two who are able to speak in Michigan. We have worked on getting him here for almost a year and I am so happy that we have been able to do so. This will be the last opportunity for our kids to hear from a Holocaust witness. Humans are shepherds of history. We take our ancestor's lives and retell the lessons learned over time. One generation passes to the next. The current generation will be the last to hear from a Holocaust survivor. They now become the shepherds of that piece of history.

Some very alarming news about cell phone use and teenagers. The average teen spends nearly 7.5 hours a day on their devices and that doesn't include the time they spend on devices for homework. 8-12 year-olds spend 5 hours a day on their devices. I guess the days of fort building and playing with Legos have moved onto the screen in the form of Roblox or whatever app is popular today. I think our society is going to regret our level of "connectedness" sooner than later.
