From the President
With December we shift into concert gear. On Wednesday Vivian Goldsmith will give out tickets for you to begin selling, Wendy Robertson will bring posters and flyers (we will email it out next week for electronic distribution), Marilyn Crooker will provide a seating/standing chart, Joyce Morgenroth will take concert CD orders, and Ed Olmstead will start recruiting a set-up/tear-down/usher crew.
Please note we will not require music folders for the performance though you can use one if you like, and we still need a host for our cast party (which is a dish/drink to pass affair that requires no outlay other than your house).

Volunteer and Enjoy the VOICES Concert
VOICES is looking for ushers for their Dec 9th Concert at First Baptist. Arrival time would be 3:00 PM (doors open at 3:30 PM.) Volunteers will receive free admission to the concert and will have an experienced House Manager to co-ordinate and answer any questions. email voicespres@gmail.com if interested.

Waterfalls Calendar Fundraiser
2018 Finger Lakes Waterfalls Calendar sales return! These beautiful gift possibilities sell for $13 of which we keep $8 each for our coffers--yet another fund-raiser for our chorus. They will be available for pick-up on 3 Wednesdays only: 11/15; 11/29 & 12/7. These artistic calendars, stiffened with cardboard, are easily mailed to friends and family. When you see photographer, Dewey Neild, thank him for making this possible. All we have to do is purchase and sell them.

January Concert CD
Chorus members may purchase CDs of our January concert for $20. Order forms are available attached to this email or from Joyce Morgenroth in rehearsal. To order, please fill out a form and pay in advance by cash or check made out to Affiliated Choruses of Ithaca. You can give your form and money to Joyce in rehearsal or mail them to her at 474 Snyder Hill Road, Ithaca, NY 14850. The deadline will be January 30, 2018. |

Please notify the attendance officer, Marilyn Crooker, (in advance when possible) of any absence. You can email her at marilyncrooker@yahoo.com, or call and leave a message for her at 607-387-3223. Members with more than three absences should check with Gerald about eligibility to sing in the concert.

“Christmas Ancient and Modern”, an exploration of the beauty of Renaissance polyphony AND contemporary choral works heard side by side. Come hear unforgettable a cappella choral works by Giovanni da Palestrina, Orlando Lasso, Hans Leo Hassler, Jacob Handl, Francis Poulenc, Frank LaRocca, and others. No admission charge, pay what you wish!
VOICES Concert 4 pm December 9, First Baptist Church
VOICES Multicultural Chorus welcomes the holiday season with music of love, peace, hope, and healing as they share with you “The Spirit of Home: Many Homes, One Voice.” Refresh your spirit with music that inspires, with texts by Mother Teresa and John Lennon, with music in Hindi to Hebrew. Songs range from the Beatles to Bollywood; from Gospel to video games; from Argentina to Africa. Refreshments available after the concert. Tickets are $12 in advance for adults ($15 at the door).
