Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race - A Call for Volunteers
 
If you would like to participate in this year's GCBSR without actually sailing from Baltimore to Portsmouth, ther are plenty of land-based opps available! 
 
In Baltimore, mates are needed to assist in the followings ways:
  • Serve as Schooner Liaison, where you will serve as a one-person welcoming committee and go-to person for the captain and crew of an assigned schooner.  
  • Help with the education program
  • Help out at the "All Hands" party 
If you are interested in helping to promote awareness of the Chesapeake Bay's maritime heritage by volunteering, please send an email to:  volunteer@schoonerrace.org

We have been hard at work bringing Baltimore Marine Centers into social media and the internet. You have a lot of choices out there; we want to make our services the most convenient and our customer service the most accessible. We have over 3,000 followers on Facebook (that’s more followers than any marina in the WORLD) and over 600 on Twitter. We are committed to staying connected with our customers on a daily basis and making the information you need a click (or a tap!) away.
 
What can BMC’s social media do for you?
 
 
First, it's an excellent way to connect with your fellow boaters and make new friends! If you interacted with our “BMC Plank Wars” last weekend (BMC YouTube video), you also know it can be hilarious! So, if you’re going to spend hours mindlessly stalking people on Facebook, why not stalk us? :-)
 
Secondly, it can be a great way to tell us what we can do better. If you want us to extend fuel pier hours, offer new services, etc., just drop a comment on our page and we'll typically respond within minutes!  We've also added new apps on our pages, so check them out (they're located under the profile pictures of the page)!
