Hello Firstname

Wednesday 19 August
The 19th sees the return of an old friend of BPS, Glyn Edmunds APSA EPSA EFIAP/s ARPS APAGB DPAGB ABIPP AMPA with his talk entitled Fuzzy Landscapes and Gritty Nudes. Glyn is one of that rare breed that still produces prints in the darkroom (remember them?) and we can expect a thoroughly entertaining evening of excellent images with a liberal sprinkling of Glyn's comments, some probably not quite as politically correct as they ought to be (he won't mind me saying that!). You can see some of Glyn's work by visiting his website.

Advanced Programme Information
Our meeting in a fortnight will be the annual club outing, which this year will be in the Bedminster area of Bristol when the subjects to be photographed will be the recent graffiti that was painted during the Upfest festival of street art held during July. The plan is for members to meet in the Aldi carpark near the Tobacco Factory at 7.05 and then head along towards the Hungry Caterpillar where there's some decent stuff down, especially just past the Sally Army and the Baths, where a school has some great artwork. Then we could meet at the Hen & Chicken at 9.00 pm to chat about what wonderful images everyone has taken during the evening.

DI Group - Homework!
At the last DI meeting Ashwin set a new challange for enhancing an image by Terry Hilton which was subject to some discussion. You can download a copy of that image by clicking here, you can then have a go at enhancing it, making a brief note of how it was done and bring it to the next DI meeting on 14th September. If you cannot attend the meeting please email it to Ashwin: ( a.chauhan@blueyonder.co.uk.

Cheap Membership
One way to get a cheap membership of BPS is to be 70 years of age, or older and to have at least 20 years of continuous service. If you qualify for this and have not told Carol, you may be paying over the odds - if this is the case, I suggest that you send an email to Carol at membership@bristolphoto.org.uk and she will amend her records accordingly.

2015/2016 BPS Handbook
For those of you who haven't already picked up yours yet, you can find copies just inside the door to the clubroom. Please pick up yours (and tick your name off the list); this will save  postage costs when Derwood comes to sending out any which have not been collected by the end of September.

Bristol Folk House - Free Talks
The Bristol Folk House (Park Street) is holding a series of free photography talks by some of the world's leading photographers starting this September. These are organised by Grant Scott who is a professional photographer who has recently moved to the City. Grant founded www.unitednationsofphotography.com.
