Dear Coalition Member
The Nomination Committee of The Coalition of McKay Scholarship Schools is now accepting nominations for board members until April 20th. Please take a moment to consider how your talents or the talents of a Coalition member can be best used to allow us to continue to keep the McKay Scholarship a viable option.
To be eligible, the NOMINATING PERSON must be a member of The Coalition. The NOMINEE must be a member of The Coalition in good standing and willing to be an active participant on the board for a 2-year term starting June 30, 2012 and ending June 30, 2014.
The basic board responsibilities are as follows.
- Willing to serve from June 2012 – June 2014
- Attendance at the annual conference.
- Active participation in telephone conferences, minimum one per month.
- Active participation on a standing committee. (Check one of the following)
- _____ Fiscal
- _____ By-laws and policies
- _____ Legislative
- _____ Web page and member services
- _____ Membership
- Active participation on the Conference Committee
As a board member, it is important to committ to one committee and be an active participant. This will make our service to our schools and children even stronger.
If you are interested in nominating an individual for The Coalition board, and/or wish to nominate yourself, contact the potential nominee and determine if he or she is eligible and willing to accept the board responsibilities. (If the individual is not a current member, he/she may become one and then be eligible for the board.)
You may only nominate one person per school or organizational membership. “Individual members” may also be nominated. This is a member who has joined under his/her own name, not that of an organization. The board may consist of two individual members per the by-laws.
Please send your nominee the attached form and have them fill it out and return to the address on the nomination application. (see attached)
