Our speaker next week is Peter Gennard MFIAP EFIAP/d2, who will be presenting his talk entitled PG Tips - Making a Fresh Brew.
Peter says the following about the talk:
This talk was created in 2020/2022. I produce a new talk every two years. The content is mainly environmental portraiture. This is the only type of photography that I enjoy.
The first section of the talk is pictures from the Black Country Living Museum. I am so fortunate that this venue is only five miles from where I live.

Once you have bought a ticket for the day, the ticket is valid for free entry any time during the next twelve months. I know photographers that go every week. There are normally lots of re-enactors and volunteers that are in different old houses and rooms.
Some of them are quite happy to be moved to different locations within the museum.
I used to attend the Edinburgh Fringe every year. Booking a hotel for the entire week and working the Royal Mile every day. However, during the years up to Covid, the characters became less and less. So, I haven’t been there since Covid.
Steam Punks Lincoln replaced Edinburgh as a good venue. This is normally the last weekend in August. Booking a hotel for two nights and working in the area around the cathedral where the different subjects wander around. Lots of other photographers from my club and other clubs in the UK also meet and we have meals together.

STILL A FEW LEFT - NO GOOD MOANING ONCE THEY'RE ALL GONE!!!
Those of you who attended the previous week's meeting, will have heard Ralph mention that we have a small selection (seven) of Steven le Prevost prints for sale. Steven was one of the two guest speakers at this year's Bob Faris Memorial Lecture, and he generously donated these prints for BPS to sell for club funds. They are available on his website at £25 each (unmounted) but the seven we have for sale are mounted and going for the bargain price of £15 each - first come, first served!

CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!
Although you are all kitted out as far as camera bags are concerned, you may know someone who wishes to upgrade from a Tesco bag for life (other bags are available). For some strange reason, I’ve accumulated three Lowepros and a Tamrac, all in excellent condition. Any takers? £20 each for the Lowepros and £15 for the Tamrac. Ideal Christmas present for the would-be photographer in your life. Email me on membership@bristolphoto.org.uk if you’d like to inspect them. Carol

If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include them in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help).
|
Salon acceptances: Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
|
IMPORTANT: Personal Detail Changes |
Please don't forget that if you change your
address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions,
it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know
so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that
you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk.
The distinctions we have on record are those
shown at the top of this newsletter, please remember, if you don't tell
us we can't possibly know!
DO NOT REPLY TO THE NEWSLETTER. |
