1 Corinthians 15:54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."

DEATH DEVOURED

Death has always been associated with the great white predator of the deep. As Discovery's Shark Week continues its yearly ratings dominance on television, one researcher furthered his quest to identify the "super predator" that attacked and devoured a mature great white shark. The existence of a "super predator” was first alleged in this 2014 documentary of a large-scale study of how a healthy, nine-foot-long female great white that was tagged by researchers washed ashore four months later. It is believed an even larger predator could be swimming in Australian waters(1). Since that study came out, there's been a search for a "bigger, badder shark," believed to be at least twice the size of the one devoured. So it is possible for death to be swallowed by death?

People have escaped great white sharks on several occasions. But who can escape death itself? "For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, 'Peace and safety!' then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape" (1 Thessalonians 5:2-3). Are you pretty content swimming merrily through life? Is death really the last thing on your mind? Sharks prefer that kind of mentality whether in animals or humans. So does the Devil who wants nothing more than to tear you apart and swallow you up in the living death of hell for all eternity.

Like a ship capsized in shark infested waters, "What's the escape plan here?" The Apostle Paul directs the capsized Christians in Corinth, "In other words," Jesus says, "I'm stronger than death! Clothe yourself in my life jacket! Trust in Me and I will get you home!" There's a whole lot of urgency in His voice because we are still swimming in shark infested waters!
