BENEFIT EVENT FOR FIMA 2014
Be there

On October 9th, within the framework of fundraiser event, for the organization of the 15th edition of the FIMA in 2014, some totems will be rebuilt at  Club Appolon. It will be the opportunity for you to come and  discover or to admire again these totems and even to buy one or several paintings. More than 70 high-quality works will be put on sale during the event. A chance for art lovers to own a piece of artwork from those  renowned artists at very affordable price : between $150  and $600.

During the last 2 editions of FIMA, within the framework of the project "Totem Urbain", 8 totems 11' high were realized by several collectives of artists, each of the totems consisting of 12 paintings on masonite.

More than 20 artists from various collectives participated in the creation of these works like EN MASSE (Rupert Bottenberg, Jason Botkin, Fred Caron, MC Baldassari, Melissa Del Pinto, Dave Todaro ...). CEASE (Alan Ganev, Earth Cusher, XRAY, Kevin Ledo et What is Adam) has worked on projects at key locations across Montreal such as the Palais des Congrès, Société des arts technologiques (SAT), Place des Arts and the Centre Mondial de Commerce for clients and partners such as Toyota, ARTV, FIFA, Quebecor AMT, Art Souterrain & Pop Montreal. TRIO MAGNUS is a Toronto-based illustration collective featuring award-winning illustrators, Clayton Hanmer, Aaron Leighton and Steve Wilson. Brought together initially by a love of sketchbooks, characters and visual excess, the members of TRIO MAGNUS continue to unleash creative kung-fu on blank surfaces of all types, taking no prisoners and having a great time along the way. Finally we had the pleasure to welcome the American artist GAIA who realized a whole totem by himself . He is considered as the rising star in the world of the street art. Further to its ' sold out ' exhibition in New York, he was mentioned in the NEW YORK TIMES as one of the next generation of street artists that we will hear more about.

The event is free and open to the general public from 18 : 00 at the Club Appolon. The DJ Milton Clark will take part in  this evening and some artists will realize a  11 feet totem during this event. An event to add in your agenda
