Product Updates at SLO Natural Foods Co-op
Jessica has two line drives running in Wellness: both Jarrow and Mega Foods products are all 20% off until March 15th. She has also brought in a new Jarrow protein powder from called Slim Whey, with Garcinia. It comes in two flavors: Green Tea and Mocha.
In Chill, Jennie has brought in Good Pops in Hibiscus Mint, Watermelon Agave, and Coldbrew Coffee. These frozen pops are dairy-free and non-GMO. We also carry Brazi Bites, a Brazilian cheese bread that is naturally gluten-free and non-GMO. They were on Shark Tank in November and received offers from all the investors; and made a deal with one of them. Nancy's Sweet Cream Yogurt is gluten-free, organic, and has probiotics in every serving. We have two flavors: Honey and Blackberry Plum. We're also carrying Heidi Ho! organic, plant-based cheese alternatives, free of additives and fillers. They are dairy- and gluten-free, and many are soy-free as well. We have three varieties: Creamy Chia Cheeze, Spicy! Chia Cheeze, and Smoky Chia Cheeze. We also have a new, local hard cider from Reef Points, from apples grown on family orchards in Watsonville and Paso Robles and bottled here on the Central Coast. Their Kid Neptune Hard Cider is a mix of Pippin, Braeburn, and Granny Smith apples, and is fermented in steel and oak barrels.

Raymond has some new items in Grocery. He writes:

Simply Delish Vegan Jel Dessert is a perfect "Jello " replacement. No gelatin here! Just delicious gluten free dessert for pies, cakes, low-calorie snacks, vodka shots...? Add hot water and let them sit! They're vegan, gluten-free, sugar free, and fat-free, and come in four flavors: Peach, Orange, Strawberry, and Raspberry.

We also carry Epic Hunt & Harvest Mix, A Wholesome Trail Mix for Omnivores. Grass fed beef jerky and uncured bacon bites are mixed with fruits, nuts, and berries and come in three varieties: Mountain Medley (Beef jerky, almonds, pecans, macadamia nuts, and apple), Berry Blossom (jerky, mulberries, Goji berries, cacao, and almonds), and Uncured Bacon Lust (uncured bacon bites, cashews, cranberries, sweet potato, and jalapeno).
Great Fun at Our Second Annual Health Fair!

Our second annual Health Fair was a smashing success: more vendors, more people, more blood donors, more shoppers new to the Co-op, and more new owners/shareholders!
Jordan Rubin of Get Real Nutrition gave an inspiring presentation on food and health that drew an enthusiastic crowd. There were tasty eats, too: Seth and Mica Nitschke of Open Space Meats cooked up some grass-fed beef sliders and Rob and Tiffani Seitz of South Bay Wild made tacos and chowder with fresh-caught wild fish.

Other vendors participating included Wiley's, Health Force, New Chapter, Barleans, Coconut Gods, Whalebird, Chakrafoods, Himalaya, Muesli Munch, Doughkies, Bio-K, Natural Factors, Get Real Nutrition, MRM, Derma-E, Garden of Life, and more. All of the companies offered extra discounts and free samples. People also really enjoyed musicians Daniel and Vince -- The Cimo Brothers -- who played outside near the vendors.

A big thank you to all of our friends, both new and old, who participated in our Health Fair: our generous vendors, and the best Co-op community around!
