Hello Firstname

Wednesday, 4 May
Our speaker next Wednesday is Richard Spurdens EFIAP/b, DPAGB who will be presenting his talk "Landscape to Studio and a few bits in between II". Richard is well known for his fine art nude figure studies and studio work. However he does take a range of other images too and his lecture will cover a number of different themes.
As the title suggests, the lecture will include some of his landscape and studio work, but will also cover a wider variety of imagery, illustrating his personal response to other forms of photography. He will be covering sport, landscape work, including images from a trip to Iceland and then highlighting his award winning model images featuring location work, studio work and nude figure studies.
Richard's website can be found here.

Annual Print Competition
This is advanced warning that the closing date for the Annual Print Competition is less than two weeks away, 11 May. The judge this year is Rosemary Wilman Hon FRPS, AFIAP, BPE5*. The competition has the usual Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Classes and in addition there is a Natural History Class (open to all). Full details of the competition rules can be found on page 27 of your BPS Handbook, but if you have any queries or questions, you can email the Competition Secretary, David Alderson, at printcompetitions@bristolphoto.org.uk.

WCPF Annual Exhibition
The Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF) will be displaying members' work at Buckfast Abbey in the Medieval Guesthall (located next to the Monastic Produce Shop) from 30 April - 15 May. The exhibition will open on Saturday 30 April when there will be a showing of the accepted projected images at 11:00 and the award ceremony will take place at 14:00.  There will also be a second showing of the projected images after the award ceremony at approximately 15:00. From then until 15 May the Exhibition will be open 10.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Saturday and 12.00pm - 4.30pm on Sundays.
Following the Exhibition at Buckfast, it will move to our BPS clubrooms for the weekend of 21/22 May when it will be open from 10.00 - 16.30 on both days.

Hearing Aids
I'm not sure if all members who wear hearing aids are aware of the fact that when we built the clubrooms we installed an induction/hearing aid loop. All wearers of hearing aids should switch their hearing aids to the "T" position to take advantage of this, when hopefully they will be able to hear the various speakers in all their glory.
