Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV84) Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

BLESSINGS LARGE AND SMALL

Does God care that I woke up with a headache? Does the stress of your job show up on His radar? What about the sadness for which you can't even find a reason? Do the passing, "little" things of life matter to Him, or is He only concerned with the more important spiritual matters of eternal consequence?

Sometimes believers hesitate to go to the Lord with the little things, thinking that God leaves those to us to work out on our own. Nothing could be further from the truth. Jesus says, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?...See how the lilies of the field grow....If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you? (Matthew 6:26 ff.). "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of the Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows" (Matthew 10:29-30).

Never doubt God's care for every aspect of your life. After all, He sent His Son to rescue us from eternal death in hell by taking sin's punishment upon Himself. If He cares that much about our wellbeing, He will certainly take care of our lesser, temporary needs, as well.

So whatever the need or concern, "little" or large today, trust that the Lord is willing and able to help. Rather than worry, "in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7).
