Our 2nd place finisher for January of this year was this Quattro created by Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ. She even included a little butterfly charm as a zipperpull. Cheryl says that butterflies are a recurring theme in the fabric she chooses.

This Quattro by Pamela Clayton of Johannesburg, S.Africa was our 2nd place finisher in February. Pam utilized an ethnic material called Shweshwe for the  unique exterior treatment!

Coming in 2nd in March was this jungle-themed Triple Play created by Mandy Mitchell of the UK. Mandy made this bag for her grown up daughter who always tries to visit a zoo wherever she goes!

And here’s our 2nd place finisher for the month of April 2016… an outstanding Triple Play by Pam Hayes who said she wasn’t quite sure she would like this color combination until she got it made up. I think it’s VERY striking, don’t you?

In May of this year, it was this eye-popping Bellagio Bag was created by Peta Lawes of WA, Australia that came in 2nd. The fabric is incredible and seems tailor-made for the assymetrical Flap of this bag!

This yummy Quattro was created by Mary Lou Wightman of BC, Canada and it was our 2nd place finisher in June. She said she lucked up & got these beautiful fabrics from a woman who had to sell off much of her stash because she was moving!

And this red, white & blue Cosmo Convertible came in 2nd in our July contest. Looks like it will be right at home whether Karen Wetherall is traveling in the US or in the country she calls home, the UK.

And Rebekah Harris (from upstate SC) is a music lover and loves incorporating musical themes into the things she sews for herself! I love the clef fabric she used to embellish her Cosmo Convertible which garnered 2nd place in our August contest.

And Lynne Newberry of Longmont, CO used fabric from Peggy Toole‘s “Lumina” collection for her HipBag Hybrid, the 2nd place finisher in our September event. Lynne said she made this versatile bag  for a vacation in Chicago!

And our final 2nd place finisher of the year (in November) was  Annette Macher who told me that she’s had this elephant fabric for quite sometime now and didn’t know at the time what she would make with it, but it sure looks fabulous on this Triple Play!

Maryann was our neighbor at Quilt Festival last month and we REALLY enjoyed having her "across the street" from us and getting to know her husband and her trusty sidekick "Sparkle". There was only one problem. Watching people try on her glamourous fashions was VERY tempting and I came hme with a few pieces myself! Who can resist her gorgeous clothes? Especially since most are machine washable, right? Anyway, check out her site and if you have an event coming up that calls for a bit of glam, I think you'll be pleased with what you see! I especially liked her beautiful jackets & shawls!

The hanging dishtowels you find at craft fairs tend towards the “country kitchen” style, so when Mara's mom said that she had seen some fabric ones and thought it would be a great Christmas gift,  it seemed like a good opportunity to make something more contemporary. She played dumb and told her mom to snap a picture of the one she had bought so I could see what she meant, but went ahead in the meantime and designed her own and now she's decided to share it. A man got lost while he was hiking in the mountains in Gimmelwald, Switzerland & a cat came up to him and showed him the way.
"Gimmelwald is a tiny, stunningly beautiful village. I actually got 'lost' in the surrounding mountains. It was the end of ski season when I got to Lauterbrunnen, so the lifts weren't working and some of the trails were closed," reddit user sc4s2cg  said.
"I was checking my map to see how I can get back to the hostel, and the only official way down was through a trail that was closed. And that's how I met that handsome cat."
