Dear MACRO members,
We begin another school year! I hope you have had a relaxing and wonderful start to your academic year. I am writing to invite all of you to participate in our activites.
Please mark your calendars for June 8-9, 2007. These are the dates for our Musician's Workshop. We have made some changes in the workshop for this year based on the experience and input of our members. This year our workshop schedule will start at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, and end at noon on Saturday. This schedule will work better for those of you who need to make flight plans. Our famous luncheon will take place on Friday, so that everyone can attend.
We will also introduce three new panel sessions at the workshop. Panel topics will include theory pedagogy, performance and theory, and composition. Panel members will present information based on their experiences, but workshop participants will also be invited to submit questions prior to the workshop. This is your chance to share information as a part of a panel, or to submit your pedagogy questions and receive several different solutions from the panel during the workshop. Come join us! Mark your calendars now.
I would also like to direct your attention to our 2007 Truman State University/MACRO Composers competition. Contest guidelines for this year's competition are posted on our web site. This is a very unique competition. All of our previous winners have really enjoyed the range of opportunities presented in this competition so apply now!
