Vale   Eckhardt Gross Eckhardt Gross first came to live on Scotland Island about 17 years ago.  Eckhardt was a retired psychologist and nature lover. He was a life-long avid reader and discusser of many topics including history, mythology, politics and comparative linguistics. His collection of dictionaries is renowned.  Eckhardt was an eccentric and artistic gentleman.  His first years on the island were with his partner Lorna Scott and her two daughters Phoebe and Georgia.  In 2008 he returned to live on the island by himself and lived quietly until his recent and unexpected death at home. Eckhardt’s funeral service will be held next Friday 23rd May in the South Chapel at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium at 11 a.m. His friends are most welcome to attend.
