PETE DOHERTY JOINS THE SEARCH FOR MISSING TOM

An exclusive video featuring Pete Doherty visiting St.Marylebone Parish Church to see a life size sculpture of himself nailed to a cross has today become available to view online. This coincides with the opening of an online auction of the sculpture that runs until the 17th March in support of the Missing Tom Fund.   http://paddle8.com/auction/missingtom/

Created by artists Nick Reynolds and Schoony, titled For Pete’s Sake, the life-size crucifixion of Doherty is part of the “Stations of the Cross” exhibition curated by Ben Moore to raise awareness and support for finding his brother, Tom, who went missing while in Italy in 2003

Doherty visited the church last week with Nick Reynolds and Ben Moore to see ‘For Pete’s Sake’ in person and show support for the Missing Tom Fund. ‘We need to find this man’ says Pete Doherty.  Click here to view video

The 3 and a half minute video features Pete’s reactions to the sculpture, a call to action for finding Tom Moore and a musical performance of ‘Amazing Grace’ with Doherty on guitar and vocals, Reynolds (also a musician in Alabama 3) on harmonica and Moore on percussion.

Since being unveiled in St.Marylebone Parish Church on 19th February the sculpture has been widely photographed and reviewed by publications worldwide and viewed by thousands of people as the church continues to function as a practising parish in the run up to Easter.

'This allows us to not only reach those who go to church anyway, but also the general public who just like to visit art exhibitions, giving them an opportunity to contemplate the significance of the cross for them personally.' Rev’d Canon Stephen Evans.

Ben Moore says 'I welcome artwork that raises debate and ultimately creates awareness around the search for my brother Tom'
