A RECIPE FOR THANKSGIVING - #303
From the kitchen of: My Triune God
Serving size: Family
Recipe for: "Too many cooks in the kitchen"
Ingredients:
1 Timothy 2:4, "God our Savior desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." - 1 Thessalonians 4:3, "For this is the will of God, your sanctification: . . ." - Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness."
Personal Notes:
I love this recipe because I need to be reminded on a daily basis that I am not the Head Chef and am not in control!
Instructions:
First, take 2:4 from 1 Timothy. Many people don't believe that God is love in view of the wickedness of the world. You know that sin and wickedness is of man, not God. What is of God? Your Salvation!
Second, take 4:3 from 1 Thessalonians. Sanctification means "to make holy." As a believer in Jesus you have a new nature in Christ, but still present is your old sinful nature. They are constantly at war.
Finally, take 10 from Psalm 143. This ingredient is necessary for following God's recipe. It is the Lord who teaches and instructs you. He leads you in the way of righteousness. When you or I try to run the kitchen we very quickly make a mess of things. That's why in these ingredients and instructions from your Father you'll taste and see that "Too many cooks in the kitchen" is a recipe to be truly thankful. His will is always best and is always done for you, for the rest of your life!
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever.
Amen.
