Psalm 130:7-8 O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption. And he will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

THE LORD'S PLENTIFUL REDEMPTION

Sometimes when you're carrying a heavy load, it's hard to get people to notice. Maybe you're leaving the store with hands full of loaded grocery bags or you're walking out of the library with arms full of books, when the person in front of you, instead of graciously holding the door, simply doesn't notice you and manages to let the door slam in your face. That's not much fun!

The LORD doesn't have that problem. Your gracious God is aware of every single hardship in your life-- every weight, every burden, every worry, and every heartache. He knows and he's here for you. This is your loving Savior who urges you with words of invitation, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He reminds you with words of refreshment, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink" (John 7:37). He strengthens you with words of absolute promise, "Whoever comes to me I will never cast out" (John 6:37).

Out of the depths, your loving Father, your faithful Brother, your Best Friend is there for you. Constantly reminding you of His attentive, vigilant presence and your waiting eternal salvation. He delights in steadfast love and plentiful redemption. He delights in reminding you of his grace and mercy every time he proclaims to you absolution from all your sins. Praise his gracious name!
