The Democratic African American Ward Chair Caucus will hold an evening of celebration and information Thursday, August 30, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at CJ's in The Strip District, 2901-2911 Penn Avenue.
The event called the "Summer Jamboree" is being held to honor African American Committee Members and to educate them on Pennsylvania Voter ID requirements. The Democratic African American Ward Chair Caucus knows how important it is that the African American community has the right form of identification.
"The November election is a very important election," said Ed Gainey, Democratic nominee for State Representative in the 24th District.
"The time is now to mobilize the community and let them know how much we appreciate their hard work. We always have been a community that united together to overcome the barriers that has been placed in front of us."
The event will be attended by several elected officials including Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.
This will be an evening of great entertainment as we honor and educate people on the requirement of the Voter ID. More than 80 committee members are expected to be in attendance.
