News Diary Notice: Launch of National Motto Campaign, 25 September 2014
 
What: A national campaign challenging members of the public to submit suggestions for an (unofficial) national motto for Ireland will be launched on Thursday. Members of the public are invited to propose a motto no longer than 60 characters (spaces included). The new campaign is part of Better Together 2014*

When: Thursday 25 September, 12.30-2pm

Where: Mansion House (Oak Room)

Who: Deirdre Garvey, Chief Executive of The Wheel (a national network of over 1,000 Irish charities) and Brendan Halligan, economist, chairman Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) and former Secretary of the Labour Party and Member of the European Parliament.

* Better Together is a nationwide campaign which aims to build support for charities, community groups, clubs and associations across the country by encouraging the public to support these good causes and make a difference in their communities. The first Better Together campaign was launched in 2010 by The Wheel, a support and representative body for the Irish community and voluntary sector. The Wheel created the Better Together campaign in order to help raise public awareness and support for the work being done by thousands of charities, community groups, clubs and associations up and down the country.
