Psalm 33:22 Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You.

HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER!

The Psalmist began by inviting us to rejoice in the LORD, and he now ends with a humble prayer that the mercy of the LORD would not depart from him. So we too would pray these words from a joyful and confident heart that sings to the Lord the songs of thanks and praise for all that He has done because His mercy is great toward us.

That mercy which does not destroy us the moment we sin, though He would be just in so doing. That mercy which turns the evil we do into good. That mercy which provides for all our needs. That mercy which has moved Him to give us His Word that we might learn and know Him and find in Him our Savior Jesus. That mercy which moved Jesus to redeem us and give to us eternal life.

Without that mercy, we would have no hope, no joy, no songs of rejoicing to sing. Without that mercy we would still be lost and condemned creatures.

LORD, according to your promises, let your great mercy be upon us always till you take us home to yourself.

Rejoice, sing, to the Lord, of His truth, His goodness and His eternal mercy.
