Hello Intenational Peer Respite/Soteria Summit Participant,
This is to let you know of some news and developments.
Mentoring. One of the main goals of our follow-up activities is to provide assistance to people who want to start Peer Respites or Soteria Houses. Or if they are already are operating a Peer Respite or Soteria House and have questions about a problem(s) they are having. We are using the term mentoring for this and requests for assistance can be made through our
Mentoring Request Form.
Crisply Edited Video? We said we planned on making "crisply edited videos" from the Summit and the first edited video is
Kitchens Not Treatment Rooms. You can decided if it is "crisply edited" or not. It is 2 minutes and 12 seconds long, not counting the closing credits. We hope to increase the pace of getting videos out.
- May 12th, Overview., Peer-Run Crisis Alternatives: Warm Lines, Respites, Wellness Centers, Community Response Teams, and PADs (Psychiatric Advance Directives).
- May 19th, Warm Lines.
- May 26, Peer Respites.
- June 9th, Wellness Centers.
- June 16th, Community Response Teams.
I have had trouble viewing the videos in Chrome so if you do, you might try a different browser.
There is one live webinar left on Psychiatric Advance Directives next Thursday, June 23rd, at Noon Eastern Time. It is free, but you need to
register if you want to attend live.
Circles. You can still join one or more of our Circles. You can ask to join an individual Circle by going to its Google Group or
join multiple Circles.
Donations to support the effort are always welcome and greatly appreciated. You can donate to the Summit through MindFreedom International's
Donation Page and selecting Peer Respite/Soteria Summit from the drop down menu where it says Preferred campaign or program.
Take care,
Jim Gottstein
