New employees
Over the past few months four new employees were hired at Meet Kate. Angela and Philo will take care of feeding and dressing the children every day.
Gyan is the new housefather for the boys, so he sleeps in the boys’ room. He used to be Kelly and Mark’s Twi teacher and was a tutor for children at the MKCH who were behind in school. Naomi guides and teaches the children aged 4 and 5. Given the expansion of our daycare center, she was much needed!

Outing Feyenoord Soccer Academy
Last month we took the children to the Feyenoord Soccer  Academy. Michel Valke (a Dutch soccer player) arranged a look behind the scenes at the best soccer academy in Ghana, because his daughter is doing her internship at Meet Kate. After a warm welcome, teams were made and the game began. The children joined in with enthusiasm and had a lot of fun during the game! Afterwards, we looked at the footage of the match and analyzed the game. We also celebrated Kate and Jojo’s birthdays.
We’d also like to thank Feyenoord for this amazing day.

In the past month, lots of stuff has happened at Meet Kate! Here’s an overview:
- Mary took her first steps! A wonderful result of the great care she is getting. Check our Facebook page for the evidence!
- We have started to plants cacao trees on our piece of land. This will help with our sustainability in the future!
- Kelly and Mark finally have their residency licence! Kelly is taking advantage of that by flying out to The Netherlands to take care of some important business for Meet Kate.
- It is now possible to get a day-to-day update without using social media. Our homepage features a banner which shows the latest news! Click here to see how it works!

With kind regards,

Meet Kate wants you to meet...
Every newsletter, we introduce you to someone in one of our projects. This can be one of the children, a student, teacher or employee.
This month, we’d like you to meet

Francisca Moses.

Francisca has worked as a housemother at the Children’s Home since the opening. She lives with the girls and takes care of everyday chores. Early in the morning and at the start of the afternoon, she works with the smallest children at our daycare center. She spends the late afternoon and night studying!
New in MKCH!
