BPS vs Reflex Camera Club
I reported last week on our "battle" with Reflex Camera Club and omitted to mention that as well as Val Duncan gaining full marks (20/20), Barry Mead also received full marks.

PSA Interclub Creative Image Competition

Following on from my report last week about the BPS leading the pack in the PSA Interclub Creative Competition, I have now received the awards for Jim, Val, Barry & Greg and they are as follows:

Jim Marsden Avenue Acer Award of Merit
Val Duncan EPSA The Tooth Demon Award of Merit
Barry Mead Venetian Dance Honourable Mention
Greg Duncan PPSA
How Do I Change The ISO
Honourable Mention

The closing date for the next round is in 2 weeks time and Barry is now desparately looking for more images, the more whacky and off the wall the better. If you think you have something suitable please send it/them directly to Barry at barrymead@blueyonder.co.uk. Images should be the same dimensions etc. as entries for club competitions.

Exhibitions To Visit
Landscape Photographer of the Year
This exhbition is on from 7-9 February at the National Theatre (South Bank, London, SE1 9PX). Full details available on the NT's website

A Beautiful World
This exhibition features the work of 19 photographers who have been moved by our beautiful world enough to document it in all its glory. Some have chosen to focus on the physical landscape, some on the animal world, others have taken nature as their inspiration, whilst some have chosen the beauty of people. What they all have in common is the unique and touching interpretation of the beauty they perceive in the world.

A Beautiful World is a touring exhibition created and supported by The Photographic Angle, I've mentioned The Photographic Angle before as a charity that organise travelling photo exhibitions. This one will be from 15 - 19 February at Castlemead, Lower Castle St, BS1 3AH.

Railway Events
South Devon Railway, 24th, 25th & 26th of Feb with the newly lined out 3205 on various consis'. Limited space on Monday & Tuesday, more space availability on the Wednesday. If you are not currently booked on any of these days please have a think about supporting some or all of them as the money will be going to a railway that if you are not aware has suffered a fair bit of land erosion due the rather wet and windy weather over Christmas. The railway had to cut short its post Christmas services due to the land above the railway close to Stretchford collapsing down on to the railway line. While this has caused major disruption it could have been far worse. However what it has done has eat up a big chunk of cash that the railway wasn't expecting to spend. A figure I am led to believe to be around £15,000, the shortfall on which the balance will thankfully be covered by the railway's insurance company. It would be great to be able to give the line a little more than they have asked for at this time.  Link to booking form.

Swanage Railway, 17th, 18th, 19th , 20th & 21st of March with the T9 & M7 on various consis'. Monday, Tuesday and Friday have limited spaces available. Wednesday and Thursday are now full.  Link to booking form.
