Freshmen Legislators, Read What we Write
Dismiss it at Your Own Peril
You are probably really excited at starting your new job at the Capitol and feeling confident after winning a tough election. No doubt that House and Senate leadership has spent a lot of time patting you on the back and telling you how important you are. But the single most important thing I can tell you is this:
Leadership will fight till the last drop of YOUR blood.
There are 35 new House members, men and women that are supposed to represent the men and women in their districts. House leadership does not have control over you unless you allow them to control you. It is up to you if you do what is right or if you knuckle under to leadership.
One of the first items will be an amendment that simply states that all bills filed get a fair hearing in committee and a fair hearing on the floor if they pass committee. If you fold on this issue you will be breaking your oath of office and your promise to your voters to look out for them.
The Speaker race is always tight and remind yourself that at any time in session any legislator can stand up and offer a motion that the Speaker be subject to a recall vote. Historically who wins the Speaker slot depends on three to four votes. At any time a half dozen of you can band together and force leadership to return the power to the House members simply by banding your small group with the other cliques.
Next, we have our RINO index that will track and tally every single vote you make and you will be scored at the end of the year. Other groups do this as well. A low ranking score will be used against you along with the copies of the legislation you unwisely supported or refused to support, your opponent in 2018 is going to rub your nose in it and unseat you in the primary.
To guarantee that for the first time ever we will be sending the RINO index to everyone that registered to run at the State Election board last year and we will resend your 2018 score to all those who file for office in 2018
To stay on the right side of Oklahoma values you should keep this list In your wallet or purse:
Real ID shall not pass; it is biometric information that is dangerous and a huge identity theft issue
Do not raise a single penny in taxes or fees. In any form or manner.
Cut the corporate welfare and the useless tax credits. Do not pick winners and losers in business
Do not be stupid enough to support the National Popular Vote unless you were a Hillary supporter.
Oklahoma has made great strides forward on the 2nd Amendment so no radical gun bills are needed
Parental rights are a third rail, do not force vaccination when we are already above herd immunity
Rent seeking is bad, if you don’t know what that is find out before Monday
Do not pass new laws to fix things. Enforce existing laws on that subject
We need to fix the education system, not pay part time teachers over $50.00 per hour
Increase class sizes to cut the education budget, spending more hasn’t worked, make the teachers work
Repeal most of SQ 780 and 781, we need law and order, not non profits with six figure salaried heads
Find a cheap way to run prisons or better yet, find a way to make the prisons self supporting using labor
Ask yourself if freedom and existing laws are not better at solving a problem than more laws
Remember what Trump won on, now it is your turn to follow or lose in 2018
Remember that special interests like the State Chamber of Commerce and the unions are not friends
Almost everything you need to know to stay out of trouble and have a good index score is now known to you. Past that, vote to support your constituents at home, not the special interests. Understand that you aren’t going to have many friends at the Capitol and if you walk into a meeting and don’t know who the mark is then it is you. We will warn you about the bad legislation as the session continues but it is up to you to decide who you work for, leadership, or your voters that sent you to Oklahoma City.
GOP Chairman Pam Pollard Facing
Heavy Opposition after RNC Reprimand
Pam Pollard won her GOP Chairman post not because of popular support within the party; she won because she was the lesser of evils once the Sooner Tea Party took Estela Hernandez out with the video of her and her husband employing illegal aliens. That October 2015 day Hernandez brought dozens of supporters up on stage for her pitch speech, Pollard had only two people willing to walk up on stage with her, and the only other candidate, and elderly conservative man, made the mistake of spending his time literally crying on stage over the nasty mailers that had been sent out stating the truth about both of the flawed women running for GOP chairman.
Pollard didn’t win out right and Hernandez could have pressed a runoff vote but she could see there was no way to win so she folded. Pollard won the GOP position without winning a plurality of the votes that day.
But she was never really accepted as a legitimate chairman. People simply didn’t like her or believe in anything she was doing. Her funding dried up, getting perilously close to closing the doors late last year, only to be propped up by the donor class trying to salvage anything after the Trump train roared over the RINO camp. Then in Washington D.C. , according to a former RNC employee, Pollard was soundly criticized and told in no uncertain words to shut up, shape up, or you are history. Particularly she was taken to task over her amazing treachery against Oklahoma County Sheriff candidate Mike Christian. Pollard was one of two people that could have leaked a GOP reprimand letter aimed at Mike Christian, reprimanding Christian for something that Pollard had given permission to do in an open meeting.
Pollard limps back to the state, ego battered and dejected, only to find that a vast coalition has sprung up against her, running from NE Oklahoma down to the Texas border along the I-44 corridor and flaring out in Southwester Oklahoma over past I-35. Numerous County GOP leaders are backing a mystery candidate with the idea of putting Pollard out to pasture at the State GOP Convention.
State rep Dan Kirby’s saga is slowing to a close after his second attempt to resign in as many months. The committee “investigating” Kirby and Democrat David Fourkiller successfully beat down any attempt to widen the investigation and bring former Representative Randy Grau in for questioning on his part in the scandals. Kirby has resigned effective March 1st, missing the chance to be the first state representative in state history to be forcibly removed from office
The damage goes far further than just Kirby and Fourkiller. Newly elected Speaker Charles McCall found himself disciplining two of his supporters in just over a month, leaving many of this other supporters wondering if they would be the next to be thrown under the bus. Carol Bush of course being the second McCall supporter embroiled in a controversy over an infamous interview where she slashed House leadership along with Christians and the majority of the Oklahoma voters.
Former Speaker Hickman, whatever faults he had, at least tried to protect his team members including helping to cover up the Dan Kirby dalliances. Illegally so some might say but at least you can say he was a leader that tried to cover his troops.
McCall is unique in that he has only a handful of years experience as a legislator before being elected Speaker and also for buying the election with generous donations to House members running for office. McCall is way, way, out of touch on the issues facing Oklahoma this session.
What is interesting is that House Minority Leader Scott Inman suddenly found his voice, going so far to use the word “sordid” in his statement according to the Tulsa World.
"The allegations that were set forth in the report of the House Special Investigation Committee were troubling and should never be tolerated," said House Minority Leader Scott Inman, D-Del City. We hope the victims of this sordid episode find some measure of comfort in the announcement,"
Evidently our little inoculation story did its job and Inman found courage in the fact that the media wasn’t going to look too deep into allegations of his own problems.
Another Speaker Charles McCall Team Member
Creates a Scandal
Top McCall lieutenant Representative Elise Hall was busted last week after promoting her own food truck that was going to be making stops at the legislature. Pressuring employees and fellow legislators to conduct business with her company was way out of bounds of House rules, propriety, and common sense.
It seems that McCall has generated so much aggrogance and entitlement in his team that they don't even question the ethics of any scheme they might hatch to take advantage of their legislative position.
For her trouble Representative Hall got an ethics complaint filed on her entrepreneurial behind for taking advantage of her position as an elected official. The Ethics Commission keeps these investigation secret but as the infraction was an email sent from her House of Representative account to the other staffers and legislators there needs to be little else to prove she broke the rules to enrich herself by coercing others into doing business with her.
Charles McCall Out of Touch with Oklahoma and National Voters
Will McCall Lead the GOP House Caucus to Defeat in 2018?
Newly elected Speaker Charles McCall gave an astounding interview with the Tulsa World last week where he claimed that passing Real ID and passing a teacher pay raise were his priorities for the coming legislative session.
The rookie legislative leader acts as if Trump didn’t just defeat the RINO Republicans and the liberal Democrats by standing up for the common people. Now, despite a $868,000,000.00 budget shortfall and another looming state revenue failure that will surely push the deficit over one billion dollars McCall continues to pander to the teachers unions and focusing on growing big government and stamping on privacy and fueling identity theft.
McCall is supporting increasing the tobacco tax, a hike in fuel taxes, and a massive program of billions of dollars in new state taxes on services that have never been taxed. At the back of McCall’s list is “reforming” the billions of dollars in existing tax credits and incentives, all put in place by the State Chamber of Commerce who is responsible for McCall’s rise to power. Reforming? How about taking an ax to the billions of tax credits that were handed out like party favors in return for campaign donations?
McCall also ignores the fact that it is going to take a 75% majority to pass these billions of dollars in new taxes meaning without the Democrats and the conservative Republicans he stands no chance of ever passing tax increases. They doubled the fees across the state last year after doing almost as much the year before. The one time money has all been robbed, leaving the agencies and commissions scrounging for money to keep the doors open and continue servicing their industries.
McCall KNOWS that most of the conservative Republicans will stand their ground in opposition to these billions and billions in new taxes and even if they didn’t they would need at least two Democrats to cross over. The Democrats are smart enough to know that raising billions in taxes on the backs of the working class and middle class will mean they will gain seats in 2018 and all they have to do is oppose the taxes.
In the midst of this there are bills promising thousands of dollars of pay raise for teachers despite the resounding defeat of their state question on the issue. Each $1000.00 in raises costs the state fifty two million dollars on top of the billion dollar short fall. And the real joke is that the local school districts can raise teacher pay anytime they wish by raising local taxes but these school boards and county officials are intelligent enough to realize they would be sticking their head into a meat grinder by raising taxes.
At the end of the article McCall states that if the billions in new taxes can’t be imposed upon Oklahomans then they will look at reducing expenses…. Yah think?
Real ID is the red cape that McCall is waving to try to misdirect the grassroots while he imposes the billions of new taxes on Oklahomans. Despite the change of leadership at the national level McCall needs to use something to distract and bargain with. What better than the privacy of Oklahomans? A passport isn’t needed to get on an airplane but most Oklahomans already possess a passport if they need to get inside a Federal building. Trump will likely knock down this silliness anyway if the feds don’t back off. The fact is that not a single state has yet to come into full compliance with the Real ID act is all you need to know. Anyone can get on an airline without a compliant ID, I have personally seen illegal aliens board after showing a piece of paper with their name written on it. Sure they are taken back and have their identity verified but you see them sitting at the gate a few minutes later.

This past week, I actually had a student come forward after a university chapel service and complain because he felt “victimized” by a sermon on the topic of 1 Corinthians 13. It appears this young scholar felt offended because a homily on love made him feel bad for not showing love. In his mind, the speaker was wrong for making him, and his peers, feel uncomfortable.
I’m not making this up. Our culture has actually taught our kids to be this self-absorbed and narcissistic. Any time their feelings are hurt, they are the victims. Anyone who dares challenge them and, thus, makes them “feel bad” about themselves, is a “hater,” a “bigot,” an “oppressor,” and a “victimizer.”
I have a message for this young man and all others who care to listen. That feeling of discomfort you have after listening to a sermon is called a conscience. An altar call is supposed to make you feel bad. It is supposed to make you feel guilty. The goal of many a good sermon is to get you to confess your sins—not coddle you in your selfishness. The primary objective of the Church and the Christian faith is your confession, not your self-actualization.
So here’s my advice:
If you want the chaplain to tell you you’re a victim rather than tell you that you need virtue, this may not be the university you’re looking for. If you want to complain about a sermon that makes you feel less than loving for not showing love, this might be the wrong place.
If you’re more interested in playing the “hater” card than you are in confessing your own hate; if you want to arrogantly lecture, rather than humbly learn; if you don’t want to feel guilt in your soul when you are guilty of sin; if you want to be enabled rather than confronted, there are many universities across the land (in Missouri and elsewhere) that will give you exactly what you want, but Oklahoma Wesleyan isn’t one of them.
At OKWU, we teach you to be selfless rather than self-centered. We are more interested in you practicing personal forgiveness than political revenge. We want you to model interpersonal reconciliation rather than foment personal conflict. We believe the content of your character is more important than the color of your skin. We don’t believe that you have been victimized every time you feel guilty and we don’t issue “trigger warnings” before altar calls.
Oklahoma Wesleyan is not a “safe place”, but rather, a place to learn: to learn that life isn’t about you, but about others; that the bad feeling you have while listening to a sermon is called guilt; that the way to address it is to repent of everything that’s wrong with you rather than blame others for everything that’s wrong with them. This is a place where you will quickly learn that you need to grow up.
This is not a day care. This is a university.

DEMOCRATS INVOLVED IN SEXUAL
MISCONDUCT AT STATE CAPITOL
Last week we told you the story involving the Republican Representative and his sexual harassment of his office staff at the capital. He was not the only Representative accused of such activity. There was also a member of the Democratic side of the House accused. Once again this too was reported to the appropriate people with no action taken. This indicates that there is not only corruption by individual members of the House, but also corruption in the Human Resources Department which hires the other employees that work for them. What a mess to start the new session with.
Now things don’t appear to be going very well in the investigation of these incidents. We came to that opinion with this article “It’s not going to accomplish anything,” Problems arise first day of secret meetings to investigate sexual harassment at the c
. If our politicians act in their normal pattern they are correct. Everything that has been leaked so far has been about the Republican, and very few people even knew a Democrat was involved. They’ll have their secret investigation and make the decision. The Representatives will lose their Chairmanship or Vice-Chairmanship of a committee and the tax payers will still be out the expense for the payoff from the Republicans indiscretion.
It’s time to introduce you to the Democrat involved. We went to his web site at the capital and this is what we found Representative William Fourkiller - Oklahoma House of Representatives
. We found some good information on him. He’s a Native American and represents Adair, Cherokee and Delaware counties in Eastern Oklahoma. In fact there is a lot of good information about him on his biography page here.
The next article of interest we found was this William T. Fourkiller - Ballotpedia
. This actually shows that he has a nursing degree from Oklahoma University in Tulsa. Unfortunately this article only covers the period through the 2015 session. Here we are going into the 2017 session on Monday and there is a cloud of suspicion hanging over his head. The strangest part is we’ve not heard a word of support or denial from the Minority Leader in the House. Could he be a sacrificial lamb?
We next took a look at his voting record since he’s been in office here William Fourkiller's Voting Records - The Voter's Self Defense System - Vote Smart
. From what we saw it appears that on subjects that were the least bit controversial he failed to vote. He did stray from the party line on some occasions, however the votes were not considered in controversial. We urge you to open the link and go through his voting record for yourself.
Agriculture and Food
2015 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Federation 66%
2013 Oklahoma Farm Bureau Federation 100%
Business and Consumer
2014 Research Institute for Economic Development 47%
2013 Oklahoma National Fed.of Independent Business 17%
2016 The Oklahoma Constitution 37%
2015 The Oklahoma Constitution 42%
2016 Sooner Tea Party 59%
2014 Sooner Tea Party 35%
2013 Sooner Tea Party 28%
We could go on, but it just gets repetitive. We don’t understand how an individual can hold his head up with any pride as a Representative of the State of Oklahoma and know so little about the Oklahoma State Constitution. That is why we have so much corruption in this state now. Far too many of our elected officials have no idea what our State Constitution says.
The next article of interest we found was this William Fourkiller - Oklahoma Legislature - Open States
. Once again it’s like the reporting has just stopped to this agency. The campaign finances only show the 2010 campaign estimates. The bills listed only indicate the ones that passed. They completely leave out those that failed. That would give voters a more accurate assessment of how their Representative is doing.
The next article of interest we found was this Fourkiller seeks to be principal chief of Cherokees | Local News | muskogeephoenix.com
. At the time of this announcement he was the sitting Representative of House District 86. We will admit he had some admirable goals for the Cherokee Nation. Not being a Native American we won’t dare delve into Tribal politics. We would like to see that after all the pain and suffering the tribes suffered that there were some places along the Trail of Tears placed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The next article of interest we found was this Private committee investigates sexual harassment allegations against state lawmakers | KFOR.com
. It is the opinion of this staff that the investigation should be open to the public. Taxpayer dollars were used to pay off the attorneys and at least one victim. Tax payer dollars are being used to pay the bills incurred by the investigating committee. Those two facts alone make it a matter of public record and should have made it open to the public. Just because they are legislators doesn't ’mean they are above the law.
The next article of interest we found was this Oklahoma lawmaker accused of sexual harassment to testify
. When you read the article you find it’s only the Republican lawmaker that’s going to testify. Where is the Democrat? He not only has his reputation at stake but also has his teaching credentials and nursing credentials on the line. It would appear that he would want to vigorously defend himself on this allegation against him.
Now what we find disturbing is this very same secret committee took it upon themselves to place themselves and all of the House of Representatives above the Law by finding that they had the authority to use tax payer funds to buy off witnesses. That smacks off cronyism if anything does. Who are they to determine to spend money to bribe a witness? Actions like this are why we are considered the most corrupt state in the nation.
We’ve said enough. Hang on to your wallets folks. They plan on taxing everything this year. It would be beneath their dignity to take a pay cut or lower the corporate welfare they give out each year.
