Ephesians 3:14-19 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DOESN'T END THIS SIDE OF HEAVEN

We all want our children to be "well rounded." In other words, we want them to have a good grasp of every subject and not fall behind. We want our children to be able to function in this society and yet still be able to reject the false and godless philosophies around them.

Some students excel, while others struggle. Some students need extra help, others seem to enjoy their classes and breeze through them. Some will go on to earn special degrees while others will find their niche without a lengthy college education. Many of those who graduate consider that graduation an end of their education.

As Christians learning from the Word of Truth, we should understand that we will not know or understand it all this side of heaven. We will never master our textbook, the Word of Truth. Those who think they have mastered the Word do not show great wisdom but a sad lack of it. The more we study it the more we begin to see what Paul calls the "width and length and depth and height--to know the love of Christ that passes knowledge."

We are not all blessed with the same gifts. We do not all have the same intellect. We do not share the same strength of faith or understanding of Scripture. May God help us to use the gifts that He has given us, including our intellect, in the study of His Word. May God grant us His Spirit and the wisdom that comes down from above that we begin to grasp the depth of his grace and love toward us in Christ. May we strive to better know the Triune God and rejoice in God's rescue of us through Jesus Christ.
