PERSON:

DR. FRED TRAVIS

In the field on neuroscience, Dr. Fred Travis is known as one of the leading scientists studying the effects of Transcendental Meditation on brain functioning.

We decided, in turn, to study the effects of Transcendental Meditation on the functioning of Dr. Travis!

Talking with him at the beginning of April, we learned why Dr. Travis turned from the world of theatre to that of science. And how he has transformed stress into an enjoyable challenge.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW:

ASHER FERGUSSON,
WEB ANALYST

Please meet Asher Fergusson, a successful web developer who loves surfing, skateboarding, camping, star gazing, photography, art, yoga, and, last – but definitely not least! – Transcendental Meditation.

Asher learned the technique as a 10-year old from her mother, a TM teacher in Sydney. Yet the importance of the practice dawned on him only later, during a moment of revelation in the Australian desert.

Since that flash of clarity, Asher has graduated from MUM in Fairfield, US, and launched his own web development company. The goal of the aptly called enterprise, Galaxy Ninja, is to make all the good stuff out there in the digital universe more visible and accessible.

Who said doing business and making the world a better place cannot go hand-in-hand...?

REPORT:
DONOVAN, GUITARS, AND TM

The legendary singer-songwriter Donovan is promoting a re-make of his legendary guitar – to benefit the teaching of the Transcendental Meditation technique.

Donovan admits that he simply could not do without his Gibson J-45. “I wrote every song on it from late 1965 into ’70, when it was stolen during a college-town gig,” Donovan says. After a long absence, the J-45 has now been given a second life.
