Hong Kong High Court has barred accused activist Chow Hang-tung from calling on overseas witnesses. Now Artists Jens Galschiøt offers to come to Hong Kong in person to witness, along with Tiananmen Survivor Zhou Fengsuo.
Dear Hong Kong List
I just received information that Hong Kongs High Court has barred me from testifying in favour of activist Chow Hang-tung in the court case against her. Several other overseas witnesses are in the same situation.
I am shocked that the Hong Kong authorities have not allowed me to testify in defense of Chow, something I had otherwise agreed to.
The ruling only concerns a virtual witness situation. Therefore, I will be willing to travel to Hong Kong and appear in person in court to testify in Chow's case.
Another overseas witness who was barred in the case, Tiananmen Survivor Zhou Fengsuo has - on X - also offered to come to Hong Kong in person to testify.
Both of us have been refused entrance to Hong Kong at earlier stages, so I am quite curious about if they will let us enter for to testify in their own case.
For any further information, feel free to contact me.
