The Co-Op Club
Proudly Presents
Sun June 1: Tina
Harrod & band
Award winning vocalist & writer Tina Harrod will be playing some
sweet, funky, soulful music from her own albums and from some of her
favourite artists. Featuring Hamish Stuart on drums, Alex Hewetson bass
& Gavin Ahearn on keys.
…”Harrod gives you goosebumps...it’s as if she’s singing about the last
night of life..” John Shand SMH
Sun June 8: Brendan
Gallagher
Brendan Gallagher's a unique musical incarnation…singer,
multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, composer, performer & troubadour
of the world with the band Karma County over 6 albums. Brendan’s career
spans over 30 years & he has played on recordings for artists from
David Bowie to Kylie Minogue and produced many albums including Jimmy
Little’s instant classic Messenger.
At The Co-Op on 8th June he'll be
exploring new songs and old with drum legend Rob Souter (Dynamic
Hepnotics, Slim Dusty) and young WA guitarist Doug Nairn.
Brendan Gallagher is a fine musician but what’s clear from his latest
album Wine Island is his surpassing skill in the studio..pretty much
single handedly crafting an album that is as good as anything you’ll
hear this year..
..Jeff Glorfeld – SMH
Sun June 15: The Sly
Dogs
Scotland Island locals and the Co-Op Club house band return to give you
your monthly dose of rockin soul blues…a great way to end your weekend
and start your week.
Sun June 22: Rachel & The Stickmen are also a band from
Scotland Island. Their musical palette ranges from electric to
acoustic, Tom Waits to contemporary pop.
Sun June 29: Kate
Lush & band
Add to her devastating voice great original material and an outstanding
band and you have a Sunday afternoon not to be missed. Think soul
infused rock, Memphis blues with a dash of Susan Tedeschi..

Annual Salvation Army
Red Shield Doorknock Appeal
The Annual Salvation Army Red Shield Doorknock Appeal is coming up on
the weekend of 24th & 25th May,
2014 and I need lots of enthusiastic helpers to help me collect
on the Island & Bays.
This is a great
opportunity for everyone (young, old and in-between) to get involved and
particularly for
families to enjoy some healthy exercise together, while making a real
difference to the lives of those less
fortunate.
If you won't be home on the weekend of 24/25th May, you can always drop
a donation into my mailbox this week or next when you're passing
through (PO Box 566 at Church Point in an envelope marked with your
name and address for a tax receipt), or pop your spare change (and
maybe even a bit more) in the Salvos bucket on the ferry. Every little
bit counts and all donations (big or small) will be greatly appreciated.
Please give me a hand and together we'll contribute to transforming the
lives of over 1 million Australians this year.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Jenny Frazer
