Hello Firstname

Wednesday 18 February
John Hooton FIPF FRPS MFIAP - Gathering Light. John John hails from Southern Ireland; for the last thirty years he has been captivated by the ever varying light and mood of Ireland's Atlantic coastline. Exploring this region has offered him an insight into the way the landscape has transformed and evolved over centuries. His images reflect the changing light and the use of a wide angle lens lends a better sense of place and location to it. It is here, in Ireland, with its wind and rain, sunshine and cloud, that he finds the inspiration for his beautiful and inspiring landscapes and seascapes. This an evening not to be missed.

WCPF DPIC Competiton
The 2015 WCPF DPIC Competition was held at Exeter last weekend. A small group of us travelled south to see BPS take second place (for the second year running). The competition is for sets of 20 images submitted by 47 clubs within the WCPF region, these are judged by a panel of 3 experienced judges who award marks out of (a total of) 15. The club with the highest total score is declared the winner and the top two clubs go on to represent the WCPF at the national competition organsed by the PAGB at Warwick in July. The overall winners were the f8 Group from Taunton (226 points), BPS 2nd (218points) with Dorchester snapping at our heals in 3rd place (215 points). Below is a list of the individual BPS results. A big thank you to all those members who allowed us to use their images.

MANFROTTO 503 PRO FLUID VIDEO HEAD
The variable damping (drag) allows the head to be tailored to the weight of your camera and lens, and also to the focal length, to allow smooth pan and tilt action which is especially useful when following wildlife such as waterfowl, allowing smooth one-handed pan with sufficient stability to be able to release the shutter while panning or to hold steady without having to pause and lock the head only to find your subject has moved away again!
