Dear MACRO member,

It's that time of year again, time to start thinking about attending/presenting at our Musician's Workshop, and time to encourage your students to apply for our student honorariums!

1. The Musician's Workshop is scheduled for June 16-17, 2006. We have a great series of presentations already lined up for this year, and room on our poster session for more! Many of you may have already received your flyer in the mail, but you can also access the flyer at:

Poster session applications will be accepted until June 1, 2006. Sign up early, and don't forget to take advantage of our travel funds!

2. The deadline for applying for our student honorariums is approaching quickly. The deadline is March 1, 2006. We have changed the requirements for this award. Students need to submit a short essay describing their goals as a musician. The award is determined primarily on that essay question, along with a letter from the instructor. Make sure your students are aware of this. We wanted to make the application process easy for student and faculty alike, but we also want to make sure that your students aren't misled by the informal setting of a box on an online form. Make sure you let them know that the information included in that box is the information we will use to determine the awards.

I hope all of you are in the midst of a wonderful semester! Best wishes,
