In The News...

It's the time of year where we begin thinking of Spring Cleaning.  Lori's past article in Dayton Daily News shows us how organizing can cut down on cleaning time.

Filing Fresh Start...

The third week in April is National Organize Your Files Week.

A quick way to purge your outdated files is to purchase bankers boxes from your local office supply store.  Pull all of your files out of your drawers and place them in these boxes.

Start making the new files for the now empty drawers.  Keep the old files nearby next to the cabinet.  As you need things from your old system, clean out of the file and incorporate it into the new drawer.

After a set period of time, (3 months, 6 months, a year)  if files are still in the bankers box, they could be outdated and you might not need them.  Anything else can be purged, except maybe those things needed for tax purposes.

How Does Your Garden Grow...

Warmer weather brings thoughts of gardening!  Before you head out to the flower bed, organize all of your gardening tools.

If you are like a lot of people, your gardening tools are scattered all around the garage from the previous growing season.  Gather all of your gardening gear and assess every single item. Does it work? Do you use it?  Do you have multiple items and more than you need?  Throw away any items that are broken and can't be repaired.  Donate tools that you no longer want.  Sort and store tools you want to keep.

Store small hand tools together in a bucket, tool box or even an over the-door shoe organizer.  For more garden tool organizing ideas, go to our Garden Organization Pinterest Board.

Another great tip is to spray paint a bright color on the handles of your gardening tools.  That way you can find them easily in the dark soil you are working in.
