IMPORTANT CHANGES WHEN ATTENDING MEETINGS AT THE CLUBROOMS.

There is a change to the system for attending meetings at the clubrooms, as you will no longer need to pre-book your seat at the meeting. Instead of pre-booking, Members will be requested to sign-in on arrival. This will provide the means by which attendees can be contacted in the event of a Covid case being reported.

Annual Print Competition
The closing date for the Annual Print Competition is next Wednesday, 25 May. There is a box for your entries by the stage in Unit 13 and another box in Wex across the way for those unable to attend meetings in person.

The competition will be judged this year by Leigh Preston FRPS, MPAGB, EFIAP, FIPF.

You may submit up to 4 prints and are allowed to use images previously used in the bi-monthly competitions. But please do not use images which you have already submitted for this year’s Annual PDI competition. The full rules are on the BPS website, along with downloadable labels for you to print.

Don’t forget to upload digital copies of your prints. These should be the same size as for the PDI competitions – 1600 x 1200 – but there will be no need to give any other information than your name and the actual title of each image. Here is the upload link:

If you have any questions or problems, please contact the Print Competition Secretary, David Alderson, at printcompetitions@bristolphoto.org.uk
We look forward to seeing your prints!

Salon Catalogues

The Catalogues for all members who entered the Salon this year at available at Unit 13. Those members that attend Unit 13 have either already collected theirs or can do at future meetings.

For members who do not attend meetings in person, Unit13 was open yesterday (Thursday) to allow collection as previously advertised. As only one catalogue was collected the balance remain at Unit13. These catalogues can be collected at Unit13 on any Wednesday before the meeting commences. There will be someone on-site from 19:00 (possibly a little earlier) so that you can pick up your catalogue before most attending members arrive.

There is no time limit on collection, if you would prefer not to come to unit 13 at present then the catalogues will be held for you to pick up in future.

Trumpet Bowers' Corner
Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.
Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue

Items For Sale
If you have any photographic items for sale, drop me a line and I'll include it in the next newsletter. Please make sure that you provide contact details, price and full description of the sale items (pictures always help).

IMPORTANT: Personal Detail Changes
Please don't forget that if you change your address (home or email), or gain additional photographic distinctions, it would be appreciated if you could let the Membership Secretary know so that she can keep her records up to date, this will also ensure that you continue to receive your newsletters - please email all changes to membership@bristolphoto.org.uk

The distinctions we have on record are those shown at the top of this newsletter, please remember, if you don't tell us we can't possibly know!

DO NOT REPLY TO THE NEWSLETTER.
