Join
us for Women Voices of Congo, a vocal group of Congolese women
who lift their voices in song to raise awareness of the issues
in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This concert aims to promote
awareness and raise funds for the tens of thousands women and
girls who are kidnapped, tortured, brutally raped and sexually
enslaved daily in the Democratic Republic of Congo's intractable
civil war. This concert, directed by Dr. Anicet Mundundu and also
featuring the GEVAKIN male choir, the musical Bridge, performing
their renditions of traditional gospel music in many languages,
is a spiritual legacy to the African continent, filled with traditional
and authentic drums, music and soulful beats, that will have you
dancing all night! This kind of music is rare in Pittsburgh!
Don’t
miss your chance to see these fabulous women perform!
