A RECIPE FOR THANKSGIVING - #202

From the kitchen of: My Triune God
Serving size: Family
Recipe for: "Holy Spirit's Stuffing"

Ingredients:
Romans 14:17 "For the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." - Romans 10:17, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Personal Notes:
I love this recipe. Designed by a King Himself, it is intended to fill and satisfy the poorest of His subjects and followers. It reminds me of The One Thing Needful in life rather than focusing only on what I will eat, what I will drink, or what I will wear.

Instructions:
First, take 14:17 from Romans. Examine this ingredient on its own and you'll notice that it is useful for any occasion. In a world of self service and "fast food" this truth is a king's delicacy. When taught from God's Word how to correctly savor this ingredient, you'll lose your appetite for the other non-nutritious, self-righteous religions of the world.

Second, take from Romans again but this time 10:17. Trust the Author of the recipe alone. This ingredient is essential for making the dish. When it comes to the nourishment that is provided from the Word of God, there is no substitution or generic teachings. Your faith in Christ's salvation and His Word of comfort comes from the Word of God alone! Through the Holy Spirit, He continues to give your faith what it needs: righteousness, peace, and joy in Christ. In these ingredients and instructions in the "Holy Spirit's Stuffing" you taste and see that the Father gives you a recipe to be thankful for, for the rest of your life!

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever.
Amen.
