Breaking news: USA has just released a comprehensive critique of Hong Kong

Dear

Report: The USA has just released a comprehensive critique of Hong Kong's legislation and a detailed description of the city's violations of human rights. The report, which spans over 20 pages, contains numerous examples of the critical situation in Hong Kong. It also warns American citizens about the extremely insecure legal situation in Hong Kong.

Art Washing: It is noteworthy that this critical report is being published precisely at a time when Hong Kong and the Western firm Art Basel have a significant cultural presence in the city, celebrating Hong Kong's art scene through entirely uncritical cultural events. The American report presents several examples of abuses against art, including the confiscation of the sculpture "The Pillar of Shame" by Danish artist Jens Galschøt. The entire report refutes the concept of freedom of expression both in art and in debates about the legal system and democracy.

Supports EU- Meeting Criticism: The report also supports the accusations that emerged from the recent debate and exhibition in the EU Parliament regarding art censorship and abuses against democracy activists. Criticism was specifically directed at the ongoing cultural events in Hong Kong during the EU exhibition, which artist Jens Galschøt described as an attempt to whitewash and normalize the situation in Hong Kong through art.
