Billy Bragg, Beans on Toast, CC Smugglers, Day Tickets and more!

Wychwood Festival 2017 dates confirmed- 2nd - 4th June

Happy New Year to all of our Wychwooders! We have some more fantastic artists for you, our first set of comedians, and we can announce that day tickets are now on sale.

Joining us on the mainstage for Friday, will be the legendary Billy Bragg. As one of the UK’s foremost political singer-songwriters, he is best known for his tracks New England, Between The Wars, and California Stars. Hot off the back of his latest release Shine A Light, which was recorded across America’s railroads with Joe Henry. And Billy is one of our most requested artists!

Also performing on mainstage Friday, will be 6-piece busker band
CC Smugglers, who Bob Harris describes as just brilliant and BBC 6 Music’s Cerys Matthews as the best live band on the scene at the moment. On Saturday we welcome folk-rock up-and-comers Harpers Ferry.

First up in the Big Top this year, we welcome political folk singer
Beans On Toast, who will be performing songs that tackle issues as diverse as climate change, UK venue closures, and his nan. Our friends over at Smashing Blouse have made their first bookings also, with Welsh-British chamber pop and indie musician Laurel, and Liverpool based 3-piece pop band Trudy and the Romance.

Our first Hobgoblin Stage announcement this year will be Friday’s headliner; the blues man Big Boy Bloater. His latest album Luxury Hobo, which features It Came Outta The Swamp and I Love You But I Can’t Stand Your Friends, has been met with critical acclaim from the likes of Jools Holland and Imelda May.

We are also very excited to make our first comedy announcement for this years’ festival, in association with
efestivals.co.ukPatrick Monahan, Christian Riley and Lloyd Griffith on Friday; Desmond O’Connor on Saturday; and last but by no means least, Christian Lee and Cerys Nelmes on Sunday.

Finally for this newsletter, we're happy to confirm that day tickets are on sale from today.

That's it for now, we'll be announcing many more bands, acts and festival programme over the coming weeks.
