Courage to Resist

Happy Holidays & Exciting News

Dear Friend,

On December 19th, just before Congress recessed until the new year, U.S. Representatives Peter DeFazio (D-OR) and Rodney Davis (R-IL) introduced H.R. 5492, a bill “To repeal the Military Selective Service Act, and thereby terminate the registration requirements of such Act and eliminate … the Selective Service System.” As Edward Hasbrouck explains, "This bill is the most comprehensive anti-draft proposal introduced in Congress since the reinstatement of Selective Service registration in 1980." Read more about this exciting news and how to support this effort.

Also, this your last chance (midnight, December 31) to submit a public comment to the congressional commission investigating expanding military draft registration to women. Our message: "End draft registration once and for ALL."

Hours to go, but nearly there!
