This month started off with the news that I have won two songwriting awards for my song "Ready For The Dark" and a song I co wrote with Lorraine Hart called, "Liitle Patch Of Sky" (See Below). This month I will also be co teaching my first advanced level (my first any level) songwriting class (see below). I'll be doing a little traveling too; down to Kerrville, Texas and not quite so far south to Portland and also to the Methow Valley and Lake Chelan in Eastern Washington. 

 

Next month I will be sharing the stage with two great songwriters, Tracy Spring and Nathen Aswell. I'll also be returning to the wonderful Olalla House Concert series and will be playing the Benson Winery in Manson, WA for the first time.

I'm so thrilled to announce that I am a finalist in the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. This is my second time as a Grassy Hill Newfolk Finalist and this time I hope to bring home some prize money. It's such an honor to be among the many great artists who have been a part of this contest; Shawn Colvin, Lyle Lovett, John Gorka, David Wilcox, Nancy Griffith, Steve Earle and many more.

 

I've also received an honorable mention award in the singer songwriting catagory for this year's West Coast Songwriter's Association Songwriting contest. It's not quite as nice as winning in this catagory as I did last year, but I'm proud to have been recognized for a song I wrote with Lorraine Hart called, "Little Patch Of Sky."
