Psalm 22:22 I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you.
TELL OF HIS NAME
As intense as the first part of this Psalm is, these last verses are alight with joy and peace. Jesus, having endured all things for the eternal salvation of the souls of all nations; His prayer being answered with His rising on the third day, responds by proclaiming that He will declare the name of Jehovah, His Father, to His brethren.
Jesus without doubt did declare the name of God to the Jews, His brothers, during the years of His ministry before His crucifixion. Daily Jesus taught in the synagogues and in the temple, hiding nothing from any who heard Him. He declared for them the truth of the Scriptures, the mercies of God and all that God had done and was even then doing for them.
After His rising, Jesus was with the 11 and the disciples for 40 days continuing their education, declaring further to them the Name of Jehovah. Still He does so for us today in the written Scriptures we read and study and from which alone we draw all teachings.
Of whom do we speak? Of whom do we boast? To whom do our praises rise? In whom do we trust for our salvation? Obviously the answer should be in Christ and in the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. It is easy to ask, "Do we?"
Yet, what great things do we not have to tell concerning our God and our Lord? It is the Lord who has helped me throughout the years I have been on this earth, in good days and in bad days. For I came into this world with nothing and I am going to leave with nothing of worldly things. What I have and what I am is of the Lord's doing entirely. I will declare His blessings to me, His name which is, "The Lord MY Righteousness!"
Let all who glory glory in the Lord and in no one and nothing else. By my words, by my actions, and by my thoughts I will praise Him, for as God's children what can we be? Thankful, humble, obedient, contented and joyful in what our God has done and continues to do for us day by day.
