Eye News
Shortly after we made the video, Leanne suddenly had to get an operation to reattach the retina in her left eye. She's doing very well. The doctor assures us she'll be able to play again by the time work starts this summer. In the meantime we've been having fun with
the uke and concertina. Not so long ago, after one of these operations a patient had to lie on her stomach for months. And of course, before that, if your retina came off you simply lost that eye. So there's a lot of eyedrops, and vision will be fuzzy for awhile yet, but things are looking good.
Something About Storytelling?
There's usually something about storytelling at this point in the newsletter. In fact, that's one of the reasons I started putting it out, to give me a deadline and an excuse. However, deadlines and excuses only go so far.... You got a free hour-long video. Surely that should count for something? How much content does a body need?
Pet News
The dog is still ridiculously cute and personable. Her canine social skills are improving-- she hung out with five or six dogs on the outskirts of the farmer's market without being obnoxious. Her human social skills, at least within this family, are a wonder to behold. Her feline social skills are largely untested.
The cat
comes out from his lair to
lounge and do catnip and get petted in his box on the dining room table, safely on the other side of the baby gate barrier. He goes outside from time to time, now that the season has turned, and obligingly comes back in again before we have to take the dog out. We could go on like this for quite awhile. (sigh)
