Newsletter for Offshore Residents of Pittwater, Australia

Ausgrid Update.

The power supply to homes on the Western Foreshores is now being served by two large generators.

A 350kVa generator is supplying homes in the northern parts of Elvina Bay, Lovett Bay and Towlers Bay.

A 200kVa generator is supplying power to homes in the southern part of Elvina Bay.

Ausgrid will refuel the generators once every two to three days.  The previous generators were removed from the area today.

We understand that technical issues with the previous temporary supply caused inconvenience for some areas and thank residents for their patience.

Ausgrid expects the larger generators will provide a more reliable temporary supply to the area while repairs to the submarine cable are done.

Repairs to the submarine cable

Specialist crews from Ausgrid are planning to replace a section of the damaged submarine cable over the coming weeks.

While Ausgrid works to repair the Western Foreshore's submarine cable, we wish to remind residents to always assume that any fallen overhead powerlines are live.

Stay well clear and remind others to do so.  Fallen powerlines and other safety hazards should be reported immediately on 13 13 88.

Water users are also reminded to always be aware of submarine cables when they drop anchor. Signs indicate the location of these critical cables.
