“Well, we play music y'know, and we don't play to suit critics. We play what we want to play, when we want to play it, how we want to play it, and we have a reason why we play it too."

RANGER REPORT & April 26, 2005 (Uncle Ronkle's B-Day)

Well this is one for the books, folks. This Saturday (April 30) Los Manatees will play 3 shows in one day!
. The day begins at 9:30am on Rt. 30 in Paoli, PA, just down the street from the old Paoli Local. There we will enter the Paoli Parade on the Strawbridge boat float. Los Manatees will play and sing as Paolians throw marshmallows and peanuts at them. There will also be an Elvis Cadillac float, a bluegrass float, a fife and drum float, and a whole lot more. It is all in celebration of Paoli's 250th anniversary. The parade “officially" ends at 10:15am but you and I know better…
The afternoon finds us in beautiful Mont Clare, PA for the Lock 60 Grand Opening. Click on our schedule listing for it and get directions and info. It's an outdoor event that starts at noon with contemporary folk-rocker Jeff Dominick 12:00-1:00. He is followed by The Blue Moon Band (Americana)1:00-2:00, The Stumble Down The Mountain Boys w/ Ted The Fiddler (bluegrass) 2:00-3:00, Los Manatees 3:00-4:00, and Special Delivery (bluegrass) 4:00-5:00. Boats will actually be floating through the new lock as bands are performing. There is a picnic area as well as hiking trails and fishing holes. Families are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.
We then finish off the day with a return to the legendary Tex-Mex Connection in North Wales, PA 9:00pm-1:00am.

Los Manatees would like to welcome vocalist Kathleen Weber into the fold. She has begun singing background vocals with us at a few recent gigs and the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Kathleen hails from the Easton, PA area where she's been singing with Steve Kelly & Friends. (She also runs her own gardening business called “Organically K". Feel free to ask her about it at the shows.)

We are back at The Rising Sun (formerly The Bell House) this Thursday (April 28), and back at Crazy Carl's with The Rhino Horns on Friday, May 6. Work continues on the long-awaited album…

All for now. See you at the parade!

Dread out,
Jah Will
