Numbers 6:22-27 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: "The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace."' "So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them."

THE AARONIC BENEDICTION: A BLESSING OF THE TRIUNE GOD (III)

Over the years, some Christians have looked at the three different phrases of the Aaronic Benediction and have specifically associated them with the three different persons of the Trinity. While we may not be able to say that this is exactly the case, there does seem to be some reasons to support this way thinking if we look at these three phrases of the Aaronic Benediction in connection with that which is written in the Scriptures about the separate persons of the Trinity.

The first phrase of this blessings says, "The LORD bless you and keep you." Some have linked this phrase of the blessing to the person of God the Father. In the Scriptures, God the Father is shown to be the creator and preserver of all creation. The Scriptures also reveal the Father as the source of all blessings that we will ever receive; in a certain sense even the blessings that come to us in connection with the work of the Son and the Holy Spirit originate from the Father.

In the epistle of James (1:17) we hear, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights."
