Some people are "creeped out" by sex. Some think that sex is bad or that it is somehow naturally shameful. However, God gives us the proper understanding about sex because He tells us what it is and what it isn't. And in the right context, God says that:
SEX IS GOOD *
Genesis 1:31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
On day six of the history of the world God made man and woman (Adam and Eve). Genesis chapter two goes into day six in great detail. God brought this first marriage together to be "one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). "One flesh" is the union of husband and wife as God designed from the beginning. One of the reasons God says sex is good is in telling the man and woman to be "fruitful and multiply." In other words, have sex to have children.
Likewise, when God said on day six that everything He created was "very good," Adam agreed. After God made Eve and brought her to Adam, he said, "This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man." God brings Eve, naked, to Adam and he says in chapter 2:23 "at last!" "At last! This is who I've been looking for!" Verse 25 concludes the section, "And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed."
Neither Adam nor Eve were creeped out by sex. They loved it. They loved each other. It was good! God said so. And part of the reason it was so good was because it was what God had made it to be, a beautiful expression of the union of a husband and wife. A union for life!
To agree with God's rules for sex doesn't mean you have to be ashamed of it. SIN is what makes us ashamed of sex, nakedness, and disobeying God's instructions about sex. But the God who was crucified for you and gives only good things to you, says that sex is His and that sex is good.
