GOD THE FATHER ALMIGHTY

One of the most enjoyable things I have done recently is to sit down and delve into the first two chapters of Genesis and to consider just how much and with what great detail God created all things, which He states in simple fashion in those two chapters. Next time you watch some nature show, and marvel at the beauty, the complexity, and the harmony of nature, consider that all that was set in place when it was first created by God.

Such reveals so much about God that one's awe and fear of God grows. How wise God truly is. How Almighty He is and is His Word. The recurring phrase of Genesis, "let there be . . . and there was", demonstrates the Almighty power of God. Whatever He said, there it was, not over millions or billions of years, but in an instant and perfect and in harmony with what preceded and with what would follow.

Or turn to Luke two and read again the opening verses of how God's almighty power over all things is revealed in the simple statement, "and it came to pass in those days . . . and so it was". Who was it who brought about that decree of Augustus? Surely it was God. Who was it that brought about the birth of our Lord Jesus? It was the Almighty God, the Father. Or page through the book of Daniel and see how God lays out ancient history to the time of Christ.

This Almighty God is our God -- is your God, who by His Word is and does and continues to sustain you and preserve you. He is the same Creator God today as He was when He first called the world into being. He has not changed.
