High performance clinic and regatta with coach Rulo, March 17th-21st, 2014.  

Ever wonder coming back from a series of races, why you had some great starts and some not so great starts? Ever wonder why some sailors just seem to be faster. Do you have performance related questions that you were afraid or did not have anyone to ask?

 

Get answers for all your questions from coach Rulo who is on top of his game, coming back from the recent Worlds in Oman, and before that the Olympic games in London.

 

This is your chance to prepare yourself for the season, at the perfect settings that Cabarete provides.

 

Video analysis, and Rulo's attention to details, has helped hundreds of Laser sailors achieve new levels and understanding of the needs for better performance around the race course.

 

We don't know how long it is going to last but there are direct flights to Cabarete (POP airport) from Holland and Denmark.

We were told that Arke offers flight+hotel holidays from Amsterdam to Cabarete ( about 1.000 EUR for 11 days ).

Recently SWE sailors arrived with direct flights from Denmark.  GER sailors come with TUI or Air Berlin.

 

GBR sailors look for Thompson Holidays charter flights from London to POP.

 

Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela: Copa Air to Santiago (STI)

 

Canadians try West Jet, Air Canada,SunWing, WestJet, Air Transat.

 

Americans or sailors connecting in the US. Look for United, American, JetBlue, US Airways. Remember that if you can't find cheap flights to Cabarete (POP), Cibao International airport  (STI) is just 1.5 hours away.

Record numbers, Laser Training Center, Cabarete 2014.

Sailing conditions in the past three months were spectacular. With just a few days here and there of light wind, it has been blowing study. We are proud to see an increase in the  number of clinics and coaching sessions, compared with past years. A big thank you is due to head coach Rulo, and coach Max, as the number of repeating sailors was very impressive.

 

Sailors from as far away as Japan, and Australia joined others from 18 different countries, to contribute to the international feel of our school/club/center. So nice to share the passion of sailing with people from very different cultures.

 

Here are some of the many guest letters we recently received. We chose to share ones from sailors who are actually new to the Laser class.

 

I really appreciated the amazing professionalism of the Laser Training Center. ..... I wish that I could have arrived in much better physical condition....as I didn't realize how physically demanding the Laser could  be after having limited exposure... And am now on a big campaign to improve my fitness......Max's appropriate and candid comments on this inhibiting qualifying factor hit home. The instruction overall was superb and I was especially impressed & thought Rulo was one of the most perceptive sailing advisors I ever met.
I am determined to transfer many of the lessons learned & boat handling skills into other class/boats I'll sail more regularly ...., but also look forward to sailing the Laser more in the future....

The 2 weeks with the center and the Max's coaching was a steep but great introduction for me to the Laser Standard.

As I learned, but you of course already very well knew when I first contacted you, the Laser Standard is a very different beast compared to the more toy like Laser Pico; which I playfully sailed the last years. And although I have bought myself a Laser Standard end of last year, I did not yet had the chance to sail it yet.

So, Max threw me in the deep end, which was exactly was what I asked for. And not only did I learn to sail the Laser, I immediately also was exposed to all kinds of details that matter when racing the Laser.

So, not there yet. Not even close. But very confident that I will be able to further improve my skills upcoming summer in the Spanish Mediterranean, based on the instructions and commented video playback by Max. So, many thanks for that!

We are looking for a coach who will be in charge of creating an Opti program for underprivalaged children, demo our Hobie Mirage Tandem Island, and other crafts we sell to potential local buyers, and will also coach beginner, and intermediate Laser sailors.

 

Works starts now, but can also start in June 2014. Benefits include housing.
