12 solo performances over 6 nights plus
a special storySLAM on the 7th night

2010 Solo Performance Festival Schedule:
12 solo performances over six nights and each night is a double feature: two full-length shows for a single admission! And to close out the festival, on the 7th night PST hosts a StorySLAM.

Friday April 23rd: Lawrence Howard / Sharon Knorr

Saturday April 24th: auGi / Penny Walter

Friday April 30th: Taru Sinclair / Will Hornyak

Saturday May 1st: Don Kern / Taru Sinclair

Friday May 7th: Lynne Duddy / Lawrence Howard

Saturday May 8th: Jordan Herskowitz / auGi

Friday May 14th StorySLAM showcasing Domeka Parker, Ry Stroud, Kristin Olson-Huddle, Sean Bowie, Nicole Accuardi, Enrique Andrade, Wayne Haythorn and Hibone Studio's own Jeff Burke!

After hitting "emotional paydirt" with their first solo performance festival in 2009, Portland Story Theater is back for another round with Singlehandedly 2010. Featuring performers from near and far, six nights of Singlehandedly deliver two full-length solo shows for one low ticket price. Every night is different -- it's a festival of opening nights! The festival wraps up on Friday, May 14th with a special Story Slam of 10-minute pieces featuring 10 of Portland's most exciting new voices.

Actor Sharon Knorr performs It Takes Two To Tango, one woman's journey through the perilous challenge of dance, relationships, and life.

From gefilte fish to ay gevalt!, PST co-founder Lawrence Howard delivers a birdseye view of growing up Jewish in New York in The Adventures of Huckleberry Horowitz

auGi performs SexyNurd: Rockstar Trapped in a “Nurd’s” Body, written by auGi + Pema Teeter. SexyNurd is a one-man, autobiographical comedy/drama/rock musical about being trapped by your limitations -- real and perceived -- and the colorful ways one boy survived his adolescent dreams to eventually learn it is only our perceptions that limit us.

Puppeteer Penny Walter cracks open the real life of a professional children's entertainer and the crazy stuff that happens in Out Of The Box.

Veteran Portland storyteller Will Hornyak tells a true story of the people of Peru in their battle for justice and political freedom.

UK-based performer Taru Sinclair joins Singlehandedly to ask, "Are we pulled by the future or pushed by the past?" in her new piece, We Are Such Things. The Mercury calls Sinclair "simply magnetic." (August 2008)

Don Kern, creator and producer of ScratchPDX, brings us tales of complicated relationships and surreal situations.

Professional sports mascot Jordan Herskowitz dons the furry purple cow suit to share his autobiographical piece Growing Up Jordy Pordy, a story about self-identity, family, Judaism in Texas, organ donation, and the strength of the human spirit.

PST co-founder, narrative artist and Portland native Lynne Duddy delivers a humorous and poignant piece about an Irish-Catholic girl who makes good growing up in the City of Roses.

May the narrative be with you,
